We are looking forward to welcoming our families to our classrooms this afternoon. As long of the weather remains dry, we will be opening up the main school gates (beside the MUGA) at 2pm where some P7 helpers will direct you to your child’s classroom. To reduce congestion in the corridors, we would appreciate if you could enter and leave classrooms through the outside doors to each classroom. Whilst in your child’s classroom, please take some time to talk with your child about their learning and what they are looking forward to this year in school. There will be leaves available for you to write down you and your child’s ‘Hopes and Dreams’ for the year ahead. These will be added to our whole school Hopes and Dreams tree in the corridor outside the school hall.
If the weather changes and it becomes very wet, we will open the hall doors to the top car park (beside the zebra crossing) for entry and exit to the building.
It was so lovely to see so many parents and their children come to share what their new nursery looks and feels like last Friday evening.
We all had the chance to have a good look around and play, share a cup of tea, and have a relaxing chat about the journey taken so far in making this brilliant new facility a reality. A beautiful and positive end to very busy week…!!!!
I know that all of the nursery staff want to say a massive “thank you” to all the parents/carers and family members who have supported their children and of course ourselves in enabling this powerful vision to happen. We can’t do all of this without you.
This workshop will be focusing primarily on learning at the Early Level, particularly Primary 1. We will be discussing our teaching and learning approaches, assessment strategies, as well as, talking about what you can expect when your child is beginning to read, write and count – and how you can support at home too.
Date: Thursday 8th September 2022 Time: 6.00pm-7.00pm Location: Milton of Leys Primary School
We are all looking forward to welcoming as many parents/carers from P2 to P7 to your open afternoon next Monday afternoon. (P1 and P1/2 will have their open afternoon once they have made their exciting move to the newly refurbished classrooms in the old ELC).
Please come and join us between 2.00pm and 3.00pm next Monday. We can’t wait to meet and greet you at the main school gates.
It was a fantastic occasion this morning when all the partners involved in making our fabulous nursery a reality came together to celebrate the official opening.
The super nursery staff, Morrison Construction contractors, Highland Council officials and councillors, all came together and really showed what a great working relationship can achieve and indeed look like
However, as you can see the real stars of the show were the children who brought this whole occasion to life through their excitement, smiles, and joy.
On Monday morning we were visited by M and M Theatrical Productions who presented “The Railway Children” in the school hall. The P4 – P7 children really enjoyed the opportunity to get together as a larger group and see some live theatre once more. We all loved this beautiful sense of creativity which was in abundance. As you can see from the fantastic images we all got fully absorbed into this classic adventure.
Please see the attached school calendar for the holiday and in-service days for this academic year. Please note that the school and ELC will be closed to pupils on Monday 12th and Tuesday 13th September for staff training.
